Work in Progress Wednesday
Hi, my name is Logan, you may recognize me by my discord
handle Redrix-3. Today is another redo of an older project. A Pipermakes print I used as a Coldstar proxy, here it is before a new coat of paint.
Paints used
The first thing I needed to fix was the large flight rod
sticking out of the back of the base. While decently sturdy, it is connected to
the model only with glue and I wanted something to definitely lock it into
place. I grabbed a paper clip, drilled out the holes and repositioned the
model. I also zenithal highlighted the whole model to really define out the
shades and highlights
Next up was picking out all of the mechanical bits with my
classic Lamp Black for a nice matte finish, as well as some Skullcrusher Brass
to pick out the gyroscope greebleys.
Now certain armour panels get basecoated with Lamp Black
then a layer of Dawnstone.
And I may have gone a bit far ahead with my base coats of
Pro Acryl Blue then Green Turqoise, but this is where I ended up after my
painting session for today!
The highlights with the green turquoise came out extremely
well and I’m excited to continue with the project! I’d say I’m about 60% done,
and now is just a lot of detail work and clean up.
Until next week,
-Redrix-3
